The men were relaxed, almost dozing off as they ambled through a small walled field, when Warren noticed something strange. Despite there being plenty of flowers, a few bushes, and a dozen trees, not a single bird flew within the field’s borders. They occupied the flora outside its walls, but not one feathered animal ventured inside. The sensations invading Warren’s subconscious were not of eerie evil emanating from the dark side. They were ones of respectful space. It was as if someone had kicked the kids out of the house, turned the volume down, placed a glass of wine in one’s hand, and said, “Enjoy the quiet.”When Warren looked over to Carl, the man had his eyes shut, serenely enjoying the surroundings. Even the horses seemed to tiptoe through the grass. Only bees pollinated the dandelions, daisies, and other meadow flowers. Warren himself could feel his heartbeat laze as if he’d had enough wine to relax but not enough to be tipsy.
“Why is it so quiet in here?” Warren whispered while looking for other signs of life.
Carl took a deep breath, opened his laughter-lined eyes, and pointed to the raised areas of the field. “Those mounds are believed to be Saxon burials.” He chuckled. “We can’t bring that gelding, Dusty, through here. He tries to lie down before we get to the gate at the other end.” Carl spoke like the scene was as natural as walking around the supermarket. Briefly, Warren imagined Carl around Tesco’s. The man wasn’t fat, but he was by no means thin. He enjoyed the comfort of a belly filled with his favourite foods. He’d hang onto the trolley, grumbling and limping his way around on a leg that had been kicked a few times over the years. Then he’d run his hands through the grey hair of his receding hairline that he covered with his flat cap. Warren smiled to himself before he stopped his musings and continued with his enquiries.
“Why don’t you get the Time Team in to find out for sure?”
Carl turned serious. “No. It’s not good to disturb the bones of the dead. It upsets ’em.”
About the authorTaylin Clavelli lives in the United Kingdom, about 15 miles south of Birmingham, and a short journey from the world famous Cadbury’s Chocolate factory. She’s married with children and loves her family with all her heart.
Her love of books has been a long standing affair, with Taylin liking nothing better than to lose herself in an imaginary world.
Until she met Lily Velden, she never considered trying her hand at writing. However, after talking ideas, Lily encouraged her to put pen to paper—or rather, fingers to keyboard. Since, with a few virtual kicks in the right place, she hasn’t stopped. Her confidence eventually led to her writing an original work for submission.
Her first published work was Boys, Toys, and Carpet Fitters, developed for the Dreamspinner Press Anthology – Don’t Try This At Home.
Now she absolutely adores immersing herself into the characters she creates, and transferring the pictures in her brain to paper, finding it liberating, therapeutic, and wonderful.
Outside of writing, her interests include; martial arts (she’s a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-do), horse-riding, all of which facilitates her love of a wide variety of movies. Her action heroes include Jet Li and Tony Jaa—finding the dedication these men have for their art combined with their skill both amazing and a privilege to watch. If pressed, she’ll admit to thinking that the screen entrance of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl, and Shadowfax in LOTR, to be the greatest screen entrances ever. Her all-time favorite movies are Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.
The simple things in life that make her day, putting a smile on her face are:
Laughter – especially that of her children.
The smell of lasagna cooking – it makes her mouth salivate.
The dawn chorus – no symphony ever written can beat the waking greetings of the birds.

The minute Ryan Forrester read Tobias Gale’s diary he found in the home he was renovating, he fell in love. The man Tobias described as his perfect soul mate is Ryan. When a family emergency brings Tobias home, Ryan tries to console him and help him through this trying time.
Tobias Gale’s world is turned upside-down when he gets a call from Ryan Forester telling him his mom had a stroke. He rushes home to find out that not only has she been keeping Ryan Forrester, the sexy handyman who lives with her a secret, but also something far more detrimental. Tobias’s whole life has been built on lies and he doesn’t know who to turn to for help. Luckily, Ryan is by his side offering him his ear and his heart to help him get through it all.
There are more secrets to uncover when Ryan’s wolf shifter past comes back to haunt him. After Ryan gets an ominous phone call from his brother, he knows danger is nearby. He has to solve the mysterious message while keeping everyone he loves safe from the man and organization that have been stalking him for years.
Tobias’s boss’s voicemail came on. He sighed in relief at having been spared the torture of talking to her directly. “Yeah, ah, Martha. It’s Tobias. I didn’t get a chance to call you before now, but I won’t be able to come in tomorrow or for the rest of the week. There’s been a family emerg–”
Before he could continue, Martha replied, “Tobias?”
He frowned. “Hi, Martha. I was just leaving you a message.”
“Yes, I realized that. So did I hear correctly, you won’t be coming in this week because of a family emergency?”
“Yeah, my mom had a stroke earlier today. I took a plane home as soon as I heard.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope she’ll be better soon.”
“Thanks.” He was astounded at how sympathetic Martha seemed.
“About my work and the edits on John’s book.”
“Don’t worry about that. Work and the edits can wait until your mom gets better and you come back to New York.”
Tobias grinned with deep relief. “Okay, that’ll be great. Thanks so much for understanding.”
“You’re welcome. We’ve all got a mother we love and who we want to help as much as we can. After all, they’ve done so much for us. It’s only right we return the favour.” Her tone turned assertive. “Concentrate on your mom and work will wait until you get back here. In the meantime, let me know how she’s doing soon.”
“I will. Thanks again, Martha.”
“No problem, Tobias. Bye.”
He stared at the phone wondering if it really was Martha Benson he actually had spoken to or an imposter with a kind heart. He shrugged before using the app directory to get the number to St. Matthews Hospital. When he placed the call, an automated system came on. By the time he’d gone through the phone protocol, five minutes passed.
A gentle and sweet female voice answered, “St. Mathews Hospital ICU. Nurse Smith speaking.”
“Hi, I’m Gladys Gale’s son. I wanted to know if there’s been a change in her condition.”
“Why yes, there has, Mr. Gale.” Tobias held his breath ready for bad news. “She’s awake and alert. It happened just a few minutes ago. I was in her room taking her vitals when she woke up. She asked me about you. She had heard you talking to her.”
“Oh my God! That’s wonderful. I’ll head back there right away.”
“Umm, the doctor is with her right now and I believe he’ll send her upstairs for an MRI and other tests now. Plus, it’s hospital policy –”
“I know. I know. Not to have visitors in the ICU after visiting hours end.”
“Yes, sir, but you can come in at ten tomorrow to see her. I promise I’ll check in on her just as soon as the doctor finishes examining her. I’ll make sure she’s all right and see if she needs or wants anything.”
“Thank you, Nurse Smith, that’s so very kind of you.”
“My patients are my number one priority, Mr. Gale, and your mother is such a sweetheart.”
He smiled as his eyes misted with emotion. “Yes, she is.”
“Good night, Mr. Gale.”
“Bye.” He was all choked up.
He didn’t wait to make sure he shut off the phone before rushing to the back of the house to tell Ryan the good news. He stopped in midstride after he turned the corner and witnessed Ryan exiting the bathroom. He had a tiny towel wrapped around his waist. His wide shoulders, brawny, hairless chest and ripped six-pack abs glistened with droplets of water on his skin, which accentuated his gorgeous, muscular physique and wayward sexual magnetism.
Tobias’s eyes soaked in all the beauty while his mouth hung open and his mind turned to mush. It took him a few seconds to realize he was rudely ogling and started to turn away in embarrassment.
Ryan said, while towel-drying his damp hair, “I’m done if you need to use it.”
“Hmm, use what?”
“The bathroom.” Ryan offered him a sidelong grin.
“No, I don’t.” His brain function began to kick in again. “I was just looking for you to tell you the good news.”
Ryan froze, staring at him wide-eyed.” What good news?”
“My mom’s awake and alert, and she asked Nurse Smith about me.”
Ryan walked up to him. His eyes and smile beamed as he wrapped his huge arms quickly around Tobias’s shoulders, hugging him tightly. Holy cow!He smelled of musk and lemon-scented body wash.
“Yes, that’s the best news ever!” Ryan cheered.
He stepped back. The teeny-tiny towel started to slide down his thigh with his motion, offering Tobias a quick peek. Ryan then quickly turned around, trying to grab the wet towel and re-wrap it, but not before Tobias got a good look at Ryan’s amazing derriere. Damn, that was the finest ass Tobias had ever seen.
He almost let out a whimper of approval before Ryan said, “I better get dressed before I give you a real peep show.” Apparently, he had no idea he had already done just that. “I’ll be out in a minute.”
Tobias pointed over his shoulder while his heart raced. “That’s all right. I’m heading to my old room to crash out. I want to wake up early to go see my mom as soon as visiting hours begin.”
Ryan nodded. “All right. I’m going to bed now, too. I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
“Yeah, bye.” Tobias turned, too distracted to see the wall before he slammed into it hard. He rubbed the side of his aching head as he hurried away, praying Ryan didn’t notice his clumsy maneuver.
The protruding bump pulsed with heat as blood pooled into it. He needed to get ice on it, stat. It would help reduce the swelling and maybe cool down his body. He was hot and bothered and it was all Ryan Forrester the teaser’s fault.

Holly Creek Book One
Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Date of Publication: October 21, 2015
Number of pages: 131
Word Count: 40k
Cover Artist: Alexandria Corza
Small town heroes and big town hearts.
Jefferson Lee Davis is happy with his life in the city until his favorite uncle has a bad fall and he rushes to Holly Creek to make sure Uncle Sherman is okay. Jefferson Lee knows how to navigate small Southern town’s politics and the residents greet him with open arms. Everyone but the town’s sheriff, Zane Yarbrough, that is.
Dogwood Days, the town’s biggest festival is looming, so Jefferson has to step up and take over his uncle’s job as the town blogger, even if that puts him right in the sheriff’s path. Quirky neighbors, meddling family, and a sassy best friend all come together to make Jefferson Lee’s life in Holly Creek a full-time adventure. When he loses his job back in the city, Jefferson Lee has to start a new job search that will take him away from the town he’s learning to think of as home.
Will this big city boy find sweet romance in the arms of a small town sheriff or will the allure of the city call him back?
Add two parts sass and one part sweet and you have Poppy Dennison to T—sweet tea that is. Raised by a gaggle of Southern women who love reading and have backbones of steel, Poppy was brought up to see the best in people but always speak her mind. Mix it all together, like Grandma’s famous cobbler, and you get a sassy, Southern lady with a quick wit and loads of charm, who will soften any blow with “Bless your heart.” Her books reflect her small town roots, are filled with all the comforts of home, and come with side dish of spicy, because that’s the way she likes it.
Do you plan everything or just let the story flow?
That’s a bit of a trick question. Normally, I plan pretty thoroughly with an outline. However, with Dogwood Days, Jefferson Lee just started talking and didn’t quit. I didn’t have a plan so I just let him blab until he was finished. *g*
Do your characters ever want to take over the story?
Sometimes they do, especially when I have one as dynamic and gabby as Jefferson Lee. He makes it really easy to just go with the flow. I love it when that happens though. The story is really all about the characters so when they’re excited and talking, I’m exciting and typing as fast as I can to keep up!
What drew you to the M/M genre in particular?
It happened by accident, actually. I have a great friend who is an avid paranormal reader. One day, he said he wished he could read gay paranormal where the main character had a kid. I thought “I could write that” so I did. And I’ve never looked back.
Do you write in other genres besides M/M?
Not right now, but that doesn’t mean I never will. I write whatever story is in my head.
What is your favourite food?
Does coffee count as a food group? If it doesn’t, it should. *g*
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Total morning person. Obnoxiously early. I’m usually working no later than 6am, but I’ve been known to be up earlier than that when the mood strikes me. Problem is that I’m also in bed the moment the sun goes down. What’s the opposite of a vampire? Cause that’s what I am!
Where do you dream of travelling to and why?
I’d love to travel anywhere! Italy is a dream destination of mine, but I also want to see a lot more of the United States. It’s funny how I’ve lived here for all of my 40 years, but haven’t managed to see nearly enough of my own country. I’m working on it!
Do distant places feature in your books?
Not usually. I’m a Southern girl through and through so most of my books are set in the South. I love to immerse myself in the culture of the location while I’m writing, and it’s harder for me to do if I haven’t spent a lot of time in the place where I’m setting my books.
Do you listen to music while writing?
Depends on the day and my mood. Nothing with words in it, cause I’d find myself typing the words pretty quickly. I have the “Classical Music for Studying” channel on Pandora and I have that playing in the background quite a bit.
Could you tell us a bit about your latest release?
My new release is Dogwood Days, which is book one in the Holly Creek series. This series has been my dream for a long time and I finally found the right character in Jefferson Lee to really center the town around. I’m so excited for everyone to have a glimpse into small Southern town life. This is how I grew up, and I really hope everyone loves Holly Creek as much as I do!
What have you learned about writing and publishing since you first started?
Oh so much. I think the most important lessons are to work on the craft of writing as often as you can. A lot of writing comes from the heart, but knowing how to work the craft makes it so much easier—and better in the long run. Always keep learning, that’s the best lesson.
Is there anything you would do differently?
No, there really isn’t. I mean, yeah, if I had a chance to do a few improvements to earlier titles, I would. But then again, it’s a timeline of my journey as a writer and I can look back and see how much I’ve grown.
Who, or what, if anything has influenced your writing?
Our genre has so many amazing writers. I read all the time and am constantly amazed by their skill. I’ll throw a few names, just because I can. Rhys Ford is completely brilliant. Her pacing and language is just stunning. Mary Calmes writes characters that stay with me forever. I feel like they are real people! Charlie Cochet has such a wicked sense of humor, and the emotions in her story are awe inspiring. Everything from laughter to tears, to fear and happiness. That gal can do it all!
Anything you would say to those just starting out in the craft?
Write every day. Read every day. Find a mentor. Don’t obsess over reviews. Reviews are for readers, not for authors. Treat writing like a business. Oh heavens, I could go on and on.
What are three words that describe you?
Sassy, Southern, and Smart. Look at all those “S” words. Total accident. *g*
What's your favourite book or who is your favourite writer?
*coughs* No comment? But you can pretty much count on anything by Rhys, Mary, or Charlie being on my best of the best list.

Summer Season by Rebecca Cohen
Where's One of Your Favourite Places?
‘Summer Season’, my new release, is set in Cornwall in and around the Minack Theatre and a little town called Porthcurno. I have to admit that I love the south Cornish coast line with its stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and beautiful cliffs and headlands. At one point in the story, Stuart takes Ryan for a moonlit stroll on Porthcurno beach, a place that has a very special place in my heart. Back in 1998, I headed down to Cornwall with my then boyfriend and his family to lend a hand behind the scenes for a play at the Minack. It wasn’t all work and no play, and we visited a beautiful beach which the theatre overlooks. We went for a paddle, hand in hand, enjoying the gentle waves when to my surprise he drops to one knee and proposes. I said yes.
It took us a few years to walk down the aisle, but in 2014 we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. So when the time came to give Stuart and Ryan a romantic backdrop for one of their dates, I had to use Porthcurno beach.

Blurb: A Treading the Boards Novella
A trip down to Cornwall is just what Ryan Penniford needs to recover from the daily grind of London life. Ryan and his amateur dramatics society, the Sarky Players, are traveling to Porthcurno to perform at the stunning Minack Theatre.
Stuart Box has returned to Cornwall after earning his PhD, and is killing time as he looks for a job back in London. Spending time with Ryan from the Sarky Players is a great way to take his mind off things.
During their first meeting, sparks fly, but not in a good way, and they must work to get past their initial hostilities to discover they have great off-stage chemistry. Stuart soon learns Ryan is not the superficial man people assume he is, and Stuart likes what he sees. The feeling is entirely mutual.
Pity Ryan is only visiting for two weeks, but both men want to see where this holiday romance might take them.

STUART SPLUTTERED as he took a deep breath of sea air. He must’ve been away from Cornwall for too long if the once restorative powers of the sea made him sound like he had bronchitis. He lifted his heavy rucksack into a more comfortable position and set off down the coastal path and away from where he’d asked his friend to drop him.
No one had thought to tell the weather it was meant to be high summer—the gray sky threatened rain. The strong, warm wind buffeted Stuart, despite him being weighed down with the possessions from his now ex-house share. July in Cornwall could be amazing, but not today. The weather gods must be suffering from a hangover and were taking out their annoyance on the inhabitants of Porthcurno. Stuart stepped to one side to let a family of five pass by, the little boy taking great delight in antagonizing his two older sisters with a constant barrage of whys.
He should have asked to be dropped closer to the service road to his mum’s cottage, but he’d been away from the sea for so long and jumped at the chance for a twenty-minute walk following the coast. He hadn’t factored in the heavy rucksack on his back or the way the straps might dig into his shoulders. When would he learn not to romanticize the mundaneness of daily life? Maybe if he’d got his head out of the clouds, he’d have a job rather than be slinking back home to do his job-hunting. His PhD in molecular developmental biology was all very well and good, but it didn’t help his temporary employment chances in the Cornish tourist industry while he looked farther afield for an academic position.
As he approached the bar gate across the path to a small collection of cottages, he saw Malcolm leaning against the gate. “Back again, I see. Big Smoke too smoky for you?”
Malcolm had been a fixture of the village for as long as Stuart could remember. The only thing that seemed to change was the extent of the gray hair on his head and in his beard.
“Not exactly. But it’s always nice to be back by the sea.”
“I dare say you couldn’t have picked a uni farther from the sea if you tried.”
“London’s not quite that bad, Malcolm.”
“Well, your mum’ll be glad to see you. Talks about you all the time.”
“She’s always been one to bore the neighbors.”
Malcolm patted him on the shoulder and opened the gate. Walking toward the cottage brought back a flood of memories from growing up there and playing with Malcolm’s cheeky Tibetan terrier. Shirley, Malcolm’s wife, used to spoil him rotten, making Stuart chocolate chip cookies during their frequent babysitting stints.
“Your mum’s not sent me deaf yet, lad. Even after living next to her for all these years. Speak of the devil, ’ere she comes.”
Moments later Stuart was engulfed, not really caring that some people would consider him too old to be hugged by his mum.
Malcolm chuckled. “Careful there, Fi. You’ll break the lad.”
Fiona pulled away, and Stuart was powerless to stop her pressing a wet kiss to his cheek. “Nonsense, my little man’s made of sterner stuff. He won’t break from a mama cuddle.”
Stuart wiped away the bright pink lipstick, knowing complaining would result in a matching smear on the other cheek. Malcolm waved a good-bye as he headed for his own cottage. Stuart let Fiona lead him inside.
“It’s so lovely to have you home, Stuart. Even the cat’s missed you.”
“If Sprocket’s missed me, then it’s only because she had one less minion to open her food.”

Shadows in Savannah
A Wicked Tale
Genre: M/M, Vampires, PNR
About the Book
Is the prospect of love worth dying for?
Vampires exist, and travel through space and time. Immortal, beautiful creatures. Neither dead, nor living.
Dane has no memory of being human. He only remembers waking after being unwillingly turned. He is left with a parchment with one single line written upon it: his human birthday. For this one day a year, he can live and die as a human. He is ready. It is time. 126 years after becoming a vampire, he is ready to die.
When he meets Jorge, with his dark good looks and brilliant blue eyes, Dane reconsiders his choice. Can he take back the life that was stolen from him by dying? Or can he make a life with a soulmate he never imagined having?
Available at ARe
There was an unusual chill in the early evening air for Savannah in October. It wasn’t quite mid-month, yet. Dane could feel it, even with his...condition. He smiled, a wry twist to his lips. His condition. Right.
That’s what it was. Like something he could wake up from one day.
Only he never woke up from it. It was there, this nightmare he called living, this never ending existence. He was neither dead, nor alive. He survived on blood and very rare cooked meats. He had money, more than he knew what to do with, more than he could spend in three lifetimes. He could walk in the evenings and in the pre-dawn hours. He could even be out in midday, so long as he never stepped foot in direct sunlight. And with the advances in science, he could appear to have a light tan with a regular application of self-tanning lotion.
He wasn’t like the fabled and fictional vampires in books and movies. Well, not entirely. He could feel, taste, smell, though most things felt odd against his fingertips, tasted bitter or overly sweet on his tongue, smelled like...? He didn’t have a word to describe the smells. Neither acrid nor lovely. Things just...smelled.
A burst of raucous laughter reached his ears and he turned from where he stood against the edge of the walkway, mere feet above the water. His restaurant and pub was in fine form tonight. It was one of several businesses he owned under a parent corporation he’d formed some years ago. Everyone was owned by someone else, so it didn’t look odd to anyone that his corporation owned a bar, a hotel, and a bookstore. There were several other small companies he owned or invested in, but those first three were his money makers.
The bookstore had been a surprise. He loved to read, especially historical thrillers, Victorian erotica, and letters from soldiers who’d died on battlefields. He hadn’t expected the place to make any money, but then he hadn’t counted on the number of people who loved the same type books he did. He also had a section from local Savannah families who’d loaned parts of their personal libraries out to him for display. They were much like museum pieces. Priceless, fragile, exquisite.
The bookstore was where he spent the majority of his time, talking of books and places he’d traveled, showing off the volumes he brought back from various parts of the world. The bookstore was his passion. It was the only thing he had that kept him from taking the step that was closing in on him once more.
His human birthday was the one day a year he and all other turned vampires became fully human. They could do anything any other flesh and blood and beating heart person could do. Even die.
Oh, he could die any other time, as well. All he had to do was walk into a stream of midday sunlight and the life force which held him together would disintegrate and he’d be nothing more than vapor. He wouldn’t sizzle and burn. He’d been told he’d barely feel a thing. Whether that was true or not, he didn’t know. But he was tired, felt as though his soul, what was left of it, was stretched thin and to the point of completely unraveling. Vampires could go mad and there were days, hours, where he thought he just might.
Then, he’d lose himself in a book and the feeling would pass, calm would settle in, and he’d be all right. Those times were passing more quickly than they used to and something told him the end was near. Vampires were immortal, but those made against their will felt the call of death in ways those who were made willingly, never did.
It was calling to him.

They survived catastrophe, but can they live on together?
Archer survived the zombie virus that brought down the world by doing things he didn’t know he was capable of. When his traveling companion is murdered by dead ones, he knows his time has come. Seconds before he’s slaughtered, a combat vehicle crashes through the scene and a masked man saves the day—a man he feels inexplicably drawn to.

Syn is a tracker, sent out by his kind to find and protect the last of the humans and the precious blood in their veins. Archer isn’t like the others he’s found. He feels tied to the human in a way he can’t explain. The two come together explosively, both fighting the intense emotion they feel before running to escape their burning lust.
Can they find a way back to one another?
Available at ARe
Archer heard an engine rev out of nowhere, and a huge vehicle ran through the crowd of dead ones, mowing them down with ease. The passenger door was flung open before him. A masked man stared at him, hiding who his potential savior was. Or if he could trust whomever was behind it.
“Get in!” a tinny voice cried out.
Without much more consideration, as the inside of that truck was better than the death surrounding him, he jumped in. The man stepped on the gas before Archer could barely even attempt to slam the door closed, not that he could’ve had he wanted to.
“Get the door shut and fast!”
“I’m trying,” Archer screamed, stabbing his hunting knife into the head of a dead one clinging to the door. As soon as he kicked that one off, he jammed his knife into another, slamming the door on another set of decaying fingers and slicing them off. They fell in his lap, still wiggling.
A dozen dead ones hung on to the hood of the truck, which was being spun from side to side, trying to fling the creatures off. Archer reached for a non-existent seatbelt and then held on for dear life.
“Hold on to the wheel,” the guy screamed, rolling down his window.
The driver lifted a pistol as Archer grabbed the huge wheel and leaned out. One by one, he got the dead ones between the eyes, and they fell under the moving vehicle. Bouncing as they rumbled over the bodies, Archer tried to keep the thing on the road. He wasn’t even sure what it was. It was something between a truck and a tank, with an Army vibe. The tech surrounding the wheel was anything but Army-issued, though. Whatever it was, he’d never seen anything like it, and was more than happy to have seen it when he did.
Finally, the driver dropped back into his seat, the dead ones gone from the hood. Just as he began to roll up his window, a hand reached in. Lightning quick, the guy sliced the hand off with a scary-looking blade, then proceeded to roll his window up.
Archer leaned back into his seat and stared at the road ahead, stunned as hell he’d made it out alive. His heart continued to thump hard in his chest as he stared at the masked driver.
“Syn,” the guy said with that robotic-sounding voice. He held out his gloved hand.
Archer really took in the guy’s appearance for the first time. He wore some weird gas mask-like thing with goggles. Here it was, the middle of the summer, and he was covered from head to toe in black leather, from his neck to his gloved fingers and shitkickers.
“Syn’s short for Synclair,” the guy said again, still offering his hand. “As in my name. You’ve got one, right?”
“Archer,” he answered, finally taking the extended hand. “I can’t thank you enough,” he added as he shook it.
“No problem. I’ve been following you for weeks,” the masked man said, returning his hand to the wheel and looking ahead. “I’ve been just a day or so behind you for the last week. Good thing I caught up when I did.”
Archer frowned, his hackles rising. “Why were you following me?”
“I find humans to take to the Southern Citadel.”
The Southern Citadel? “Wait, what?”
“You haven’t heard of the Citadels?” he asked, glancing over at Archer.
Archer shook his head.
“There are three human cities. They’re walled and protected and already teeming with people. It’s my job to help find the last of the humans to take there so some sort of civilization can start again.”
Human cities? Walled and protected? It sounded too good to be true. And he’d learned anything that sounded too good to be true likely was. Even with his doubt, only one question truly came to mind. “You guys got food and water there?”
The masked man chuckled. “All you could ever want.”
“Then what are we waiting on?” Archer knew he might be walking into a trap, but the promise of hot food and a hot shower was too good to ignore. He was running on empty. He needed to regroup.
He glanced at the man driving, again wondering about the weird get-up, but weird was now the norm in their fucked up world.

About the Book:
He asks for a demon and gets an angel. Awkward!
Kei can’t believe his last ditch effort at stopping what could very well be the coming apocalypse has failed before it ever started. All because he messed up one spell. One awkward summoning.
From the moment the angelic man looks up at him from the within the sigil inscribed on the ground, Kei knows he’s in trouble. Blue eyes, smooth skin, and a body so perfect…it’s Heavenly. Getting involved with someone like that—no matter the physical pull—is nothing short of sinful. He just wished his soul cared enough to stay away.
Becoming lovers is the least of their worries. Darkness is on the horizon, and if they can’t find a way to stop it before it takes hold, humanity won’t be the only thing that falls from grace.
